Timeless

Spread the love

Time froze, moments after, we first met
as though dew drops unto bourbon rose.
I sigh as words lie suspended in mid-air;
as hour passed deluded by your winning
smile.

I gaze as love traced lines upon admiral
skies, mesmerized with glimmer of your
steadfast walnut eyes. Know one cannot
be wary – before you even time draws in
its breath.

    So sweet. sensual & romantic–a wonderful dose of sentiment when we need it most. I love the line /as though dew drops unto bourbon rose/. A lovely take on the prompt–makes me smile as I head off to the dentist.

    This is such a breathtaking (no pun intended….haha) image: “before you even time draws in
    its breath.” Really clever and effective 🙂

    I hope you are indeed feeling this way as love affects us so deeply that the world changes before our eyes, beauty is everywhere and we feel differently inside. What a beautiful poem Sanaa.
