Your words trace deep into flesh and soul
as I listen to the rhythm of cloud and rain,
to you I return love, time and again

Oh, erase this mind for hours it chose
around winter grey, not long ago
come chastise, as one would late
blooming rose.

Your words cut deep into mind and stole
taught me how to withstand these woes
to smile however glum and low.

And long after day has come to a close
till hours of sweet, descending moon
to you I return love, time and again

Magaly invites us to write a poem dedicated to a novel or a poetry collection
that we love. I have long been in love with Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice.’
