Couldn’t stand long enough;
Barefoot on shore.
The cool summer breeze;
Urging spirit to soar.
The spirit insistent;
On being left free.
Mourn uninterrupted;
Under shade of tree.
The voice of the sea;
Speaks to the soul.
Its touch sensuous;
Into silence enfold.
Fragments of sea glass;
Washed by the ocean.
Thus denoting;
The soul’s emotion.
Its time to withdraw;
Step into the light.
To leave from shore;
Time struck midnight.

Very soothing, Sanaa. I too hated that it was over, I had to leave.
But I didn’t I read it some more times. My favorite verse was
“The voice of the sea;
Speaks to the soul.
Its touch sensuous;
Into silence enfold.”
My feelings. Thank you.

I especially love the sea glass, the comparison to the soul. As others have said, peaceful, lulling like the sound of ocean, and with both sunlight and shadow.

The insertion of the sea glass (a reference to time) is beautiful and indirectly the answer to really any sadness (mourning) is sometimes just that … time. This is beautiful.
