The Last Leaf

Spread the love

They whisper to me
the gusty wind, the drops of rain
before a new chapter of life begins

There is undying hope
in every glance, in every breath
regarding stride of life, and time of deathΒ

Perhaps, love is a last leaf
that clings upon the gentle strings
of heart, even though time is short

  1. This is a beautiful poem, Sanaa, which certainly whispers to me. I especially love the lines:
‘Perhaps, love is a last leaf
that clings upon the gentle strings
of heart, even though time is short’.

  2. This is a very beautiful poem.. Your illustration is lovely too. Love and compassion is the only thing to cling to that is worth anything ultimately.

  3. This piece has so much stirring in it … nature … hope. ‘Perhaps, love is a last leaf
that clings upon the gentle strings of heart’ captures that ‘stir’ so evocatively. Lovely writing.
