The Last Leaf

Spread the love

They whisper to me
the gusty wind, the drops of rain
before a new chapter of life begins

There is undying hope
in every glance, in every breath
regarding stride of life, and time of death

Perhaps, love is a last leaf
that clings upon the gentle strings
of heart, even though time is short

This is a beautiful poem, Sanaa, which certainly whispers to me. I especially love the lines:
‘Perhaps, love is a last leaf
that clings upon the gentle strings
of heart, even though time is short’.

This piece has so much stirring in it … nature … hope. ‘Perhaps, love is a last leaf
that clings upon the gentle strings of heart’ captures that ‘stir’ so evocatively. Lovely writing.
