My heart is technicolor
inhaling colors of the cave
cobalt, rose and gold
I whisper walking around the fold
until one shade gazed into my soul
gifting me growth and starry calm
poised around my nape
now shine dark emeralds

Kerry invites us to consider the poem ‘The Jewel’ by James Wright.
I have an affinity for the word ‘nape,’ and the emeralds beset there are dazzling.
