Life around us, constant changing
Let our mind ponder and think.
For world around us rearranging;
Struggle forth to remain in sync.
A man who walks along the mead;
Discovered in a bud or blade.
Soon decipher fruitful meaning;
Bearing much upon his aid.
Pray what shall our world be;
Once it turned bereft?
No soon shall we find and see;
Spinning forth this rueful quest.
Reminding us to look through past;
As Mother Nature sighs and weeps.
A promise to tell a secret last;
Before our sorrow slowly creeps.
For nature possess an equal mind;
Witness all her children play.
Attempt to curb the wind and sway;
Result in one being swept away.
Lingering upon the door;
So deep into nature blend.
Vow to refuse, to implore;
Sustainable till the end.

“Pray what shall our world be;
Once it turned bereft?”
This is where I concentrated my thinking for my piece. Sadly despite our love of the world there are blind enemies within. Let’s hope our voices are heard before it’s too late

Sustainability of the earth, and even of ourselves is paramount, and all tied to respecting our surroundings, and the people we hold dear. Everything is changing, and we should not get left behind.
Lovely piece, loved the writing. And although it talks about nature, there is a sense of a deeper meaning…pray tell*

I feel that the earth has taken the reader’s hand and taken him on a walk of the vales and valleys and has also opened a door to show the barren state of a world misused.
Beautifully penned Sanaa

The world and nature require and need much more respect if to be sustained as individuals and the land around, in our care…

Liked the rhythm to the piece and I agree with the message. I can’t quite imagine a bereft world, but I hope it doesn’t come to that.

Sometimes I think what used to be dew on grass blades in the mornings are now tears left behind from Nature’s nocturnal lament.
Very nice reflection
Gracias

We have to remain in sync for sure.. I wonder though if nature care much for us.. maybe she will just give up on us and go her own way leaving us…

Wow…blown away! I agree that it is very important to base our choices in future consequences. All have to rally or else there may be little left for our children.

Not sure what a mead is, I’ll have to look that one up. I thought it was something Vikings drank, but I seem to recall it’s a pasture or something similar, as well.
Anyway, sustainability is always a good thing, yes? Happy Monday, Sunny.

It is easy to preach to the converted, Sanaa, but how difficult to make new converts amongst those who are against your own cause. I think all of us with our poems are trying to do the latter and hopefully convert those people who scoff at climate change, despoil the environment and who live a clearly unsustainable life.
Hello Nicholas,
Thanks for stopping by, so glad you liked it 🙂

It would be great if we could make our enterprises sustainable! It might delay the world’s end, or the end of the world as we know it.
Thanks.
