Thus in the rich midnight of the garden trees;
her thoughts carried aloft on wings of breeze.
Katsumi then remembered mother’s words to
her of serving to guests cups of sakuracha tea.

Lo! to thus esteemed banquet bids with heart;
mochi and nirareba. Oh salt-pickled blossoms
unfurl and float while steep the flavor into tea.
Hence she bathed in smiles of mirth and glee.

Pearl after pearl she shreds them thru;
Flooding thus heaven with roseate hue.
