Repartee

Spread the love

Scent of ristretto and apple butter
pour whispers out unto readying
eve. Your eyes catechize as though
smoldering embers ―

Stirred, my heart pens down verse
as misty-eyed morn locks lips with
blushful night. You, and you alone
serve as incitation to bitter-sweet
poet’s muse.

Seems so soft and ethereal. It is a mystery how a scent, a memory, a certain look in someone’s eyes, can be an inspiration. ❤️

WOW, Sanaa! This is amazing! I love the opening, but it’s all so, so good.

Also, I love that hiding inside the title is “re-party.” 🙂 Or maybe even “ray party.” Man, I’m so ready for sunbathing.

I love those opening lines, Sanaa, so delicious with enticing scents, bitterness and sweetness connecting to the end of the second stanza. I also love the sensuous lines
    ‘…misty-eyed morn locks lips with
    blushful night…’

There is that sudden inspiration that is recorded for posterity. Done immediately will ensure the details have not been missed or forgotten

    Hank!

The first line, with its contrast in food stuff, was quite arresting. I think of apple butter as a sweet, homely sort of food stuff, while ristretto feels far more sophisticated.
