Repartee

Spread the love

I listen to the gentle heartbeat of verse
as though shimmering showers of rain.
I observe as eloquent lips curl as words
enveloped like warmth of virtuous fire.

Pour me words that sound mellifluous,
oh soothe the heart like rays of fuchsia
sinking sun.

This is lovely Sanaa, especially when you ‘Listen to the gentle heartbeat of verse
as though shimmering showers of rain’ :o)

I agree that mellifluous sounding words soothe the heart. I also liked how you described the lips curling to make the sound. It is amazing that we make such sounds.

I’d love to be writing like what you read, Sanaa. The say that you can’t make a silk purse from a sow’s ear. I do what I can and know. Your poem flows sooo smoothly, do you give lessons?

Love your poem, but especially this:

Pour me words that sound mellifluous,
oh soothe the heart like rays of fuchsia
    sinking sun.
