Calm now, hush oh’ trembling heart
hear murmur soft of cloudless night,
wander not with malaise, nor waltz
with gloom; through dismal, dreary
path there glimmers beacon of light.

I dream of mallow fields, (blooming)
shades oh’ periwinkle and red, swirl
along-with breeze, chance encounter
with faith.

Calm now, hush oh’ wavering heart
hear murmur bold of roseate morn,
loiter not with despair, nor pirouette
with blues; through desolate, dingy
path there glimmers beacon of light.

I dream of mallow fields, (blooming)
shades oh’ periwinkle and red, swirl
along-with breeze, chance encounter
with faith.

For my prompt “Writing is both mask and unveiling – Battle of the Bards”
on 3rd February at 8 am EDT. I chose to write inspired by Bard of Olney,
William Cowper.
