I hear again,
the screams shackled under the light of the moon;
the dark humming and examples of refutation
which seem to come from all around—
upon this, the bracelet on my arm emits a fiery gleam.
Illustrate a lesson,
escape from mortal trials,
tell me, are we dead or are we just sleeping?
The sky has hardened,
witnessing the passing of blame from one
to another
as earth unbound slowly decays
we are using all the right words for the wrong reasons—
one swift jump, teeth sinking
into the harsh reality;
in slow motion my heart is bloodied—
perhaps we will reunite with ghosts of laughter and warmth.
Soft pain
and weeping willows blowing in the wind;
upon this, the bracelet on my arm emits a fiery gleam.

You too, stay safe Jim 🙂 thanks for stopping by 💄❤️
I love the idea of a haunted bracelet, Sanaa, and that there is a story behind this poem. I especially like the evocative opening lines:
‘I hear again,
the screams shackled under the light of the moon’
and the repetition of ‘the bracelet on my arm emits a fiery gleam’.
Thank you so much, Kim 😀 so glad you liked it 💄❤️
I have so enjoyed your Pink Moon inspired poems, Sanaa. This one brings in the bracelet motif beautifully.
Thank you so much, Kerry 😀 so glad you enjoyed it 💄❤️
It surely is a very dramatic (as well as beautiful) bracelet – and your poem more than matches it.
Thank you so much, Rosemary 😀 so glad the poem resonated with you 💄❤️
I like that the bracelet speaks to us in such a strong voice. I relate to “we are using all the right words for the wrong reasons—” Perhaps this is true.
Thank you so much, Ellecee 😀 so glad you liked it 💄❤️
