Perchance

Spread the love

Soon
perchance
silently
she thought, smiling
in the month of June
Planting chrysanthemums
longing to hear his deep voice
She missed him more with each goodbye
blowing kisses up the moonless sky
In hopes to meet again, make absence sweet.

  1. A soft sigh of longing
    Caress one’s heart
    Like a gentle touch
    Of long lost lover.

    Who has
    Just returned
    In her heart.

Sanaa, when I read your poem and the painting, you have chosen, these are, the words that speak to me, in response.

  2. I love the warm, earthy image of the woman planting chrysanthemums in her garden, contrasted with the ethereal, romantic abstraction of her lovelorn thoughts drifting to her absent lover, and his deep voice. Also wonderful: the image of blowing kisses to the moonless sky– the new moon the perfect symbol of absence, but also the promise of recurrence; of many meetings and partings.

  4. Perhaps.. the saddest
    thing about retirement
    or even children is
    Lovers and
    even friends
    can become
    sibling rivals..
    i suppose humans
are made to miss the other more
than count on ever presence.. ah..
    effervescence off miSSinG Love..:)

  6. A lovely, tenderly rendered piece. “blowing kisses up the moonless sky
In hopes to meet again, make absence sweet.” … sigh – so true – if only blown kisses and wishes could make such things so.
