Last day of marriage;
Divorce papers on desk.
Everything is a blur;
Seeming so grotesque.
Let’s give it;
One last try.
Come on baby;
Don’t you cry!
The judge is waiting;
Reading our terms.
Standing beside you;
Feeling you squirm.
Let’s give it;
One last try.
Come on baby;
Don’t you cry!
Never too late;
To turn back now.
Promise to fulfill;
All our vows.
Let’s give it;
One last try.
Come on baby;
Don’t you cry!
A sigh of relief;
The defer of decree.
The courtΒ thusΒ awaits;
Until both have agreed.
Let’s give it;
One last try.
Come on baby;
Don’t you cry!

Luv the repeating verse, like a chorus. And there is a nice music quality in the meter. I could listen to this as a song
Nice one

Mrs. Jim is a Social Worker. If we each had a business she could counsel and if that didn’t work I could work on the divorce.

There’re some instances when trying again is appropriate or tolerable and others definitely not.
The repetition works well for the topic as I’m sure that’s probably how such a decision would cycle in one’s mind before deciding for good.
Nicely gathered. π
