And you’ll see them unfolding in snow,
consume the woes of cold January sun
and my heart would taste our laughter,
oh embrace the change brought on by
gesturing years.
The destined sky was filled with clouds,
as I pause and reflect on the emotions
weaving the strands of my soul.
He was made of all things complicated,
and though I couldn’t make sense was
drawn deeper still into the roaring tide.
Perhaps love means to stand by one even
if they give us a thousand reasons not to.
And if that’s so, how beautifully blind we
become so as to ignore their faults-
I close the window on doubt and set foot
on a path to new beginnings.

Beautiful Sanaa! I embrace the thought of shutting out doubt and venturing into the unknown.
Thank you so much, Vivian π so good to see you β€
Love covers ALL. I love the picture you paired with your poem…’and you’ll see them unfolding in snow.’ Silly yellow flower knows no bounds. That’s the power.
Aww gosh!β€ Thank you so much, Angie π so glad you liked it!β€

βHe was made of all things complicatedβ – I love that line! And there is such hope at the end

“The destined sky was filled with clouds”
Luv your gaze towards the sky. Mine took me to the sight of a rainbow this morning and reflected on all of the colour in our celebrations of Carnival;
much love…
Thank you so much, Gillena π so good to see you β€
Oh, how I love this: “and my heart would taste our laughter”
And this, of course:
“oh embrace the change brought on by
gesturing years.”
“He was made of all things complicated” … I wouldn’t expect anything less. π
Beautiful, and hopeful, ending.
Thank you so much, Belle π so glad you liked it β€
Nice!
“beautifully blind” – “to ignore their faults”
__ We see, but look beyond their faults and laud their virtues; virtues concur, to conquer the flaws.

Your poem begins with a beautiful opening line, Sanaa: ‘And youβll see them unfolding in snow’, presenting January as a month of change and hope, as in ‘The destined sky’, although it is still tinged with clouds, and
‘I close the window on doubt and set foot
on a path to new beginnings’.
Thank you so much, Kim π so glad you liked it β€
Doubt is what stops us… and even if it hurts sometimes we need to leave it sometimes… open that window and leave… that’s the way.
Definitely π thanks for stopping by, Bjorn β€
A very thought-provoking piece. I found this bit especially poignant- Perhaps love means to stand by one even
if they give us a thousand reasons not to.
Love to you. XXX

He was made of all things complicated,
and though I couldnβt make sense was
drawn deeper still into the roaring tide.
There is a point when we have to figure out what to do with that. We are all complicated for sure, but somehow the attraction seems to have an even stronger pull when we sense that this is someone who cannot really be “had.”
Definitely π thanks for stopping by, Victoria β€
I am a fan of steadfastness, but sometimes new beginnings are needed. I enjoyed reading your poem. Thanks.
Thank you so much, Sue π so glad you liked it β€
I close the window on doubt and set foot

That should be the case. To give it the chance it deserves and so start a new beginning!

This is one of the saddest poems of yours I have read Sanaa. It is beautiful in the way you have set the scene, described the outcome and illustrated the poem with such a sad photo.

Of love and new beginnings. Well done…. You described a lasting relationship very well. Blind to faults and the thousand reasons.
You last line caught me … Did she stay or did she start anew?

This poem closes on such an optimistic note!

Iβm glad your heroine escaped. Yes, too often we are blind to faults until we lose ourselves. Then itβs harder to come back and try for those new beginnings.
