Rooms where knowledge so often chased
We sing and dance we blessed this space
While dressed in satin or linen with lace
Our fears unspoken with faith replaced
We swore to learn with heart and grace
And struggle to list and strive to trace
In trees and plants all flowery race
Our cheerful tones and serious face
Rooms where past and future apace
Where world is bent upon your case
We closed our eyes to mere retrace
Revive our thoughts in books encased
We yearn to feel its warm embrace
Like embers glow through fireplace
Each time we feel we’re out of place
We gather around like flowers in vase
Form: Mono-rhyme
There is nothing better than the energy in seeking knowledge… like flowers seeking water.

I enjoyed seeing these photos of what must have been your school and school friends, Sanaa. Indeed so much knowledge is ‘chased’ in these rooms; and past does meet future in the presence of now!

The way you use your rhymes, the same rhymes, over and throughout your pieces- is so graceful and flowing. Like a delicate lace.
Very few poets can achieve this venerable style which you do so well.
