Lo! thus in tranquil hush and peace of rose garden;
her thoughts and desires bloomed beneath the sun.
She read as though with means to slip in another’s
skin, voice and soul; devouring cherry cobbler pies
and currant wine.”Oh weave round the heart thine
ligature and tie; observe the threads of life and see
them spin robust and fine.”
Beguiled with charm of books beneath the sun and
shade; lost amid the labyrinth that her passion had
made. “I feel not need for nature’s flowers nor do I
miss its balmy showers. I tread thru passage of lore
in books; hear the sound of distant age.” Oh withal
unknown faces and forgotten places; heart unaware
long lost in pages.
Thus luminous stars lit up at night;
Lo! summoned by her fresh delight.
