Lo! thoughts and desires merged beneath
the shimmering sun; the time of summer
had just begun. Picnics at the beach were
an annual event; she recalled as her sighs
rose high in wind. So sweet was the hour
so calm was the time.
Sweet summer eve, hot wine and bread
while breathing in those words which at
long last you said. ‘Love an emotion wild
let us not hesitate not even for a second.
Observe the pearly sand with the waves
crashing upon heaven.’
Like swell of some sweet tune;
The stars circled skies in June.
